In 1999 Tony was invited by Mike Tooby, the then director of Tate St Ives, to show a collection of 10 pieces in the Tate’s millennial exhibition. The collection was entitled “Lifting & Reaching” and received much critical acclaim. As part of the exhibition’s education program Tony gave a series of talks about the work, both in the galleries and out on Porthmeor Beach.
